BSW International and GNACOPS Join Forces to Propel Digital Literacy in Ghana's Private Schools
In a landmark meeting,local representatives of Codeus (BSW International) and the National Leadership of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) forge a strategic alliance to boost Information Communication Technology (ICT) in private educational institutions.
Accra, January 8, 2024 – The National Secretariat of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools played host to a pivotal meeting between the local representatives of Codeus (BSW International) and the National Leadership of GNACOPS. The gathering marked a significant step towards enhancing Information Communication Technology (ICT) in private schools across Ghana, aligning with the 2024 strategic plan of BSW International to support educational institutions in the country.
The meeting, attended by Mr. Sarpong Asafo Agyei, the Local Representative of BSW International, and Mrs. Jennifer Appiah, Educational Supervisor for the organization, saw the participation of key figures such as Obenfo Nana Kwasi Gyetuah, the National Executive Director of GNACOPS, and other National Executive members.
The primary objectives of the meeting were to delineate the roles of each organization concerning their educational development visions, strategize on integrating ICT in private educational spaces in Ghana, and establish pathways to enhance the capacities of private school teachers.
Mr. Sarpong Asafo Agyei emphasized the imperative for every Ghanaian schoolchild to acquire digital literacy skills, highlighting the global competitiveness that stems from such capabilities.
Speaking on the 2024 vision for Ghana, Mrs. Jennifer Appiah stated that BSW International has a proven track record of fostering digital literacy in government schools, and extending this initiative to private schools is integral to the broader vision of achieving digital literacy for all Ghanaian children.
Obenfo Nana Kwasi Gyetuah, the National Executive Director of GNACOPS, shed light on the council’s theme for 2024 – “Re-imagine, re-think, re-deliver; crafting education for perpetual evolution.” He affirmed that BSW International’s vision aligns seamlessly with the council’s commitment to restructuring education in line with modern trends to address contemporary societal challenges.
This collaborative effort between BSW International and GNACOPS marks a significant stride toward equipping Ghanaian private schools with the tools and knowledge necessary for the digital age, setting the stage for a transformative evolution in the country’s education sector.
