The Director General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), Prof. Edward Appiah has indicated that the 2024 Basic School Certificate Examination (BECE) would be based on the Common Core Programme.
“What it means is that BECE candidate will be accessed on Common call Programme going forward,” he stated.
Contrary to views expressed by the general public that the there are not enough text books and materials for teacher on the new programme, Prof. Appiah maintained that there are available materials for teachers nationwide on the new programme.
According to him, there is no plan by the government to reduce the number of subjects taught which are originally nine.
